Let's explore various tips and tricks to extending the battery life of your e-bike, ensuring you get the most out of your rides!

Understanding Battery Life

What Determines Battery Life?

The lifespan of an e-bike battery depends on several things, including its usage patterns (which is how often you use your bike and how long for). Our eBikes use lithium-ion batteries, which without proper care, the capacity of these batteries can degrade over time. So it's important to look after your battery, as well as your bike!

Factors Affecting Battery Life

There are some basic factors that can effect the life of your battery, that are easy to control!

  • Temperature: Extreme heat or cold can accelerate battery degradation. Your best bet is to keep it inside when you're not using it.
  • Storage: Keeping it in damp, or consistently cold conditions can negatively affect your battery in the long run.
  • Riding conditions: The terrain, your speed, and assist levels can affect the energy consumption of your e-bike. Higher the assist = higher the battery use.

Charge it properly!

To maximize battery life, follow a regular charging schedule. Try to avoid frequent deep discharges and try to go for partial recharges whenever possible. Always use your Mycle charger and avoid overcharging or leaving the battery plugged in for extended periods where you can!

Store it properly!

When not in use, store your e-bike in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure that the battery is partially charged (around 50%) before long-term storage and periodically check its voltage to prevent over-discharge.
