These bikes are great first time e-bikes

The bikes arrived very quickly and a part of the stem handle bars was damaged slightly still useable but we contacted Mycle and they sent a replacement in case we need it; that only took 3-4 days. The power assistance feature works very well; in the first few days of using them we were flying up hills like they were not there. Number 3 mode is the mode you want when a hill approaches.

In my one, the Cadence, the battery (very heavy) came out with a key bringing it upwards; a strange design choice on my wife’s one - the battery again with a key coming out downwards - for something so heavy i think that's a design flaw. She has mastered it but this isn't comfortable if you're taking the battery in and out.

Battery suggests that if goes for 45KM - that may be true if all you're using is power assist level number 1. Consistent use of power assistance number 3 will mean you need to charge the battery more.

Not bad product some improvements

This is an update from my previous review.

Firstly, someone did finally get back to me to inform me that there was a high volume of sales and they were a little behind on deliveries, but I would be seeing mine delivered by 19/10/24. This date was not met as the delivery company was unable to deliver it until the week after.

Once I received the bike it was boxed and looked like the box had been very manhandled, however, apart from some broken plastic packaging the bike itself was fine. Bike setup was easy enough, one note was that there was no assembly instructions in the box. The instructions can be found on the website along with the manual, it would have been nice to have this in the box though. The tool kit supplied had all the parts needed to set it up and some extras that I have no idea what you would use them for on a bike. Also, the PDI check was not provided with the bike, I suspect it didn't have one as mine did not have a front light but had all the bolts for it on the bike.

The bike itself seems well built and strong, the brakes seem very powerful, and the welds seem good. Riding the bike is an upright position and the motor pulls very hard in the highest setting. It was very impressive and clearly the motor and battery seem to be a good combination. I haven't tested range yet, but I will do that over the weekend. Looking at the specs of the battery and motor I don't think the estimated range will be far off the truth.

This actually seems a good bike, decently well made, and at a decent price point. The question now is longevity of the bike, motor and battery.

One final point to the company. If you set an estimated delivery time you should stick to it. If fail consistently (trust pilot indicates I'm not the only customer to suffer this) then perhaps a review of your own delivery time scales is in order. High sales volume isn't really a good enough excuse, it indicates you just don't understand your market and it's demands. Ultimately you are generating bad feedback and reviews that could be avoided if you stated realistic time scales, effectively it's an own goal that can be easily avoided. Which is a shame given the product seems pretty good.

Not great response

I have bought a bike 5 weeks ago from Mycle, it has yet to be delivered. When I have followed this up there has been no response to any communications, no one is picking up their company phone or responding to their email system.

The only thing I can think now is that this is a scam company?

Love it

Very fun to ride and looks great. Only downside is that power output on 2 bars reduces and on a single charge doesn't feel like the power lasts long.

FAQs

What courier will you use to deliver my e-bike

We use BJS Extra, a two man delivery team who deliver the best care in transporting your Mycle to your door.

Is this a waterproof e-bike?

Yes! You can cycle it out in the rain (if you want to!) and not worry about damaging the bike.

Can I leave it outside?

Yes - You can leave your Mycle ebike outside but we recommend storing under cover or using a bike cover to protect the electrical elements such as display and battery connectors. Your battery will need to be stored within a specified temperature to maintain its charge (as per the user manual). When charging and storing the battery, be sure to store in a dry environment. If storing the bike outside, the bike may be more susceptible to harsh weather and may need more frequent maintenance to ensure component stay in prime condition. Further information found in the owners manual.

What does it feel like to ride an e-bike?

An e-bike isn't a motorbike, there's no throttle and like a normal bike, you won't go anywhere until you start peddling. Our customers describe our bikes to feel like you're riding on the flat even when you're on hills - it's very easy to cycle no matter the terrain.
